If you have not been watching the IIAAG varsity boys rugby division this year, you may have missed the fact that the Okkodo Bulldogs have strung together three huge performances in as many weeks, and have positioned themselves as a legitimate contender for this year’s title.

As the third week of high school rugby action resumed Saturday at Okkodo High School, the Southern Dolphins recovered from a tough start to put together back to back performances against Sanchez and Guam High. After being outclassed by the GW Geckos, the young Dolphins team bounced back, edging out the Sharks 7-0,and beating the Panthers 10-5.

In the IIAAG high school girls’ varsity league, the ND Royals are looking to take a huge leap forward from a mediocre performance last year. The first two weeks of the 2016 season would convince any spectator that this team is hungry to redeem themselves, as they finished out the day winning two of three matches with their only loss coming in a hard fought battle with the GW Geckos.

As IIAAG high school rugby action resumed at GW Field Saturday, the day could not have started out on a better note. One week removed from a resounding 75-0 victory over the Guam High Panthers, the defending champion GW Geckos had their hands full with the Okkodo Bulldogs as the home team needed the entire 50 minutes of regulation to secure a draw at 12-12.
