The top male and female finishers for the 45th Hafa Marathon in 2016 were more than just familiar faces. Ryan Matienzo and Manami Iijima, for the second straight year, topped all their divisional runners during Saturday mornings half-marathon from Anderson Airforce Base to Gun Beach.

JAPANESE RUNNERS TOP 10TH KO’KO’S

In just a little over an hour, Tsukasa Kawarai from Japan, continued his winning streak at the 10th Annual 2015 Guam Ko’ko’ Half Marathon and Ekiden Relay today, winning the half marathon in the men’s division with a time of 1:12:43, besting his time from last year of 1:13:30.

A first place and second place finisher in the boys A team in Jerald Bagain and Erjan Sanchez and a ninth overall team title to wrap up 2015 was the kind of Monday evening the Hawks and head coach Milven Jamindang had.

For the third straight year, heavy wind and rain blessed the Asia-Pacific Invitational Cross Country Championships held at JFK’s Ramsey Field in Upper Tumon. Despite the bad weather conditions, 304 XC runners (167 boys and 137 girls from 26 different schools) took the course.
